The Roho Commode Cushion addresses the challenge of pressure buildup for users who spend time on commodes or shower chairs. It benefits people with spinal cord injury, older adults, multiple sclerosis, and post‑surgical patients who require reliable pressure redistribution. The cushion uses Permobil’s ROHO Dry Floatation® technology – a network of interlinked air cells that conform to the body and promote blood flow while reducing shear forces. Clinicians and carers gain a low‑maintenance solution that improves comfort, skin health, and independence during toileting.
The cushion’s interconnected air cells continuously adapt to the user’s anatomy, ensuring even pressure distribution across the seating surface. This dynamic response reduces peak pressures that can lead to tissue breakdown. The technology also facilitates micro‑movement, which further promotes circulation and skin health.
A purpose‑built centre cut‑out provides a clear opening for toileting without requiring the user to reposition. This feature is especially valuable for individuals with limited upper‑body strength or balance. It enables safer, quicker transfers and reduces the risk of falls.
The external cover is made from black neoprene that is impermeable, anti‑static and flame‑resistant. Because it contains no natural rubber latex, the cushion is suitable for users with latex sensitivities. Four standard sizes – 15" × 16", 16" × 16", 16" × 18", and 18" × 18" – allow clinicians to match the cushion to a range of commode chairs and shower seats.
