Configura Advance Manual Care Chair
Manual lever‑controlled tilt‑in‑space chair offering comprehensive postural support for up to 160 kg
The Configura Advance Manual Care Chair provides clinician‑designed, manual lever‑controlled tilt‑in‑space seating for users with complex posture and pressure‑care needs. It is suitable for home‑care, nursing facilities and hospitals, supporting non‑ambulant individuals, those with limited knee extension, hip stiffness, stroke or neurological conditions, and users up to 160 kg.
All adjustments – backrest recline, tilt‑in‑space (7°‑37°), legrest elevation (75°‑160°) and forward tilt (10°) – are operated via sturdy levers, with lockout features and risk‑assessment requirements for safe use. The chair features a reduced‑shear backrest, drop‑down armrests, adjustable footplate and braked castors, together with vapor‑permeable upholstery and interchangeable pressure‑cushion options.

Features & Benefits
Clinical Fit & Intended Use
The chair is recommended for home‑care, nursing facilities and hospitals. Assessment forms guide selection based on seat depth, height and width, prioritising depth first. It is intended for users who require postural support, pressure care and room‑to‑room mobility without powered positioning.
- Non‑ambulant users and those transported between rooms
- Limited knee extension, hip stiffness, fixtures or contractures
- Stroke, neurological conditions and complex postural needs
- Users up to 160 kg requiring pressure and posture support
- Users requiring a riser function for transfer
- Bariatric users above the stated capacity
- Outdoor transport, vehicle or aircraft transfer use
Manual Lever Controls
Physical levers adjust the backrest, tilt‑in‑space and legrest. The tilt‑in‑space range is 7°–37°, backrest recline 90°–130°, and legrest elevation 75°–160°. A 10° forward‑tilt option is provided but must remain locked and used only after a risk assessment, with the footplate removed before activation.
Backrest & Postural Support
The reduced‑shear backrest moves between 90° and 130° and includes a lockout slide to restrict movement when a fixed angle is required. A multi‑adjustable pillow backrest can be removed for customized postural support, and a dedicated postural backrest option is available for more structured assistance.
Transfers, Castors & Foot Support
Drop‑down armrests facilitate side transfers and sling insertion. The removable footplate is angle‑ and height‑adjustable, enhancing lower‑limb positioning. Castors consist of two 125 mm front wheels and two 150 mm rear wheels with brakes; brakes must be locked before any adjustment or when the chair is stationary.
